The long-term sustainability of Boulia’s sewer main will be ensured when the final stage of this key asset is relined.
PVC lining using a heat-treated injection moulding process will complete the final 3.8 kilometres of sewer main, extending its life by between 50 and 100 years.
Boulia Shire Council has already relined one-quarter of the sewer main using the same approach, which reduces the cost and frequency of repairs, and is an effective way to avoid the need and expense of total renewal of the system.
