- Round: 3
Yarrabah will benefit from better water quality when the water main carrying source water from Reeves Creek to the water treatment plant on Back Beach Road is upgraded.
Works include a suspended heavy-duty steel water main of approximately 1800m, decommissioning and removal of the existing water main, and connection to the current water disinfection treatment and telemetry system.
The new water main will allow Reeves Creek to be used as a primary water source for the community, improving water quality and reducing operating costs. It will also withstand bushfires and other weather events.
