Longreach Water Main Replacement
- Council: Longreach Regional Council
- Fund: Remote and Indigenous Communities Fund
- Category: Water/Sewerage/Waste Infrastructure
- Round: 3
The Longreach community will have improved water security and uninterrupted water supply when defective water mains in the area around Eagle, Owl, Galah and Pelican Streets are replaced.
When complete, the project will reduce water loss via leakage, greatly reduce supply interruption due to remedial works, and enable an efficient and cost-effective water supply for at least the next 10 years. It will also alleviate public concerns regarding major water losses during periods of drought and high water restrictions.
