Powering the Queensland economy
Consistent with the Advance Queensland initiative, the Queensland Government is committed to supporting the state's manufacturing industry, which is a major contributor to jobs and the economy.
The Advanced Manufacturing Roadmap closely aligns with the Made In Queensland program, a $40 million state-wide manufacturing program dedicated to supporting Queensland's manufacturing industry. Government will work with local manufacturers to help them to increase their international productivity and competitiveness, and adopt innovative processes and technologies.
In addition the Roadmap is investing up to $7.6 million over three years to speed up the state's transition from traditional to advanced manufacturing.
The state government wants to ensure that the $19.2 billion sector and Queensland advanced manufacturing companies continue to remain globally competitive and innovative to generate the jobs of the future.
Our vision for Queensland is that by 2026, our state is internationally recognised for its high-value advanced manufacturing technologies, systems, products and services that are innovative, sustainable, and embedded in local and global supply chains.
Roadmap and action plan
The Queensland Advanced Manufacturing 10-Year Roadmap and Action Plan ( 1.5 MB) contains 14 actions that target three key areas to position Queensland as a leader in advanced manufacturing technologies, products, systems and services.
- Increase productivity and international competitiveness
- Target the adoption and adaptation of innovative technologies and processes
- Promotion and marketing (domestic and international)
These actions were developed in response to consultation with businesses, research agencies, peak industry bodies, state and federal government agencies, and unions on a discussion paper ( 1 MB).
We are developing six industry roadmaps to guide the way that industry and government work together for the next 10 years.
The Queensland Advanced Manufacturing 10-Year Roadmap and Action Plan ( 1.5 MB) is the second 10-year industry plan to flow from the $518 million Advance Queensland program.
