Queensland businesses will benefit from a practical, how-to workshop on the art of developing and submitting tenders for government business in Bowen on Wednesday, 25 March.
An initiative of the Queensland Government, last year's Tendering for Government Business program saw 800 business representatives attend workshops, with several events booked out in advance.
The Tendering for Government Business Workshop is Queensland's premier program for educating industry on the state government's procurement process.
Through modelling of best practices and latest techniques in developing and submitting tenders, attendees will gain a strong understanding about government procurement and new approaches to meet requirements.
The workshop will guide businesses through the various opportunities that exist to supply to government, and equip attendees with the skills to pursue those opportunities.
The 4.5 hour interactive session will give participants skills in developing and submitting tenders including how to:
- apply the principles of Queensland Government procurement
- complete offer/tender documents used by departments and agencies for goods and services
- interpret the standard terms and conditions contained in these documents
- identify government purchasing requirements for products and services sourced locally
- improve potential to win new business associated with government-funded projects.
Sessions are designed to help suppliers maximise their chances of winning government work with the skills gained also applicable for private sector tendering.
The Bowen Tendering for Government Business workshop will be held at Castle Motor Lodge, 6 Don Street, Bowen from 8am to 1pm.
Businesses are urged to register as soon as possible as seats are limited. The cost of the workshop is $50 per attendee. Registrations close: COB Tuesday, 24 March.
